Chicago

Well we landed yesterday, got the subway and settled into our hostel. What with the time difference we were both absolutely cream-crackered by 8pm. Last night it snowed it down, leaving 4/5 inches on the paths. It comes as a second nature for Chicagoans though. I heard on the radio that 200 'snow vehicles' took to the streets at 3.30am to clear up the roads. Crazy.

Today we've properly treked it about, walking (questimate) about 8 miles. We went over to the harbour and the pier at Lake Michigan. The whole place was frozen. We then walked down the beach to the Hancock Building. It's the second tallest building in the city, with a 360 degree watchtower. The views were wicked awesome.

The 20mph lift journey back down called for only one response: bevvieshack. A local bar was comedy; dirty spanish looking owner, with shit loads of artistic 'pop art' workings of porn across the bar. A nice beer, then chip off for a pizza.

Think tonight we are going off to a Blues Bar with a few people from the hostle. Tomorrow I fancy the Art Museum. We are off to Boston on Thursday, on the overnight train. Adios.
